Flexride
Mobile · 2026
Mobile companion to the FlexRide car rental platform, porting the existing web MVP to iOS and Android.
- Role
- Solo developer, mobile
- Impact
- Web and mobile book against one fleet with the same conflict rules
Challenge
FlexRide already had a working web app. The mobile app had to book against the same 182-car fleet and follow the same reservation rules, so a car held on a phone couldn't be booked again on the web.
Contribution
I built the Expo app and its API routes, which read the same MongoDB database as the web app. I ported the availability and conflict checks from the web source instead of rewriting them from memory, then built browsing, search, filters, side-by-side comparison and 24-hour guest holds.
Outcome
A booking made on either app is respected by the other. Testing turned up a routing bug that made car and category pages unreachable, and a filter default that quietly hid most of the fleet. Both are fixed.
Details
FlexRide started as a full-stack web MVP, with booking, Stripe payments, an admin dashboard, and fleet management, built in three weeks.
This is the mobile side: a React Native and Expo port sharing the same backend and reservation logic as the web app, so a booking made on one shows up correctly on the other.
